Q: What are Essential Oils?
A: Essential oils are highly concentrated natural extracts from the leaves, flowers, and stems of plants. The most common way to use essential oils is through inhalation in diffusers and humidifiers for the amazing scent and of course the most positive benefits for your mind, body and soul. They are also widely used diluted with a carrier oil and applied to the skin. Their antifungal, antibacterial, and antiviral properties make them a useful product in your medicine cabinet. Essential oils have been used for thousands of years in various cultures for health and wellbeing. Essential Oils have the ability to assist us in many ways. Some of these oils may assist us with issues like anxiety, detox, digestion, to relieve headaches, assist with relief during Colds/flu/virus and help the body and mind to calm & relax.
Q: How do you use essential oils with a diffuser?
A: A diffuser is a device that disperses essential oils into the air. There are several types of essential oil diffusers that you can use for this. For safety reasons, follow the manufacturer’s instructions. For our full range of diffusers & diffuser Blends please go to www.iconicessentialoils.com.au When you are dispensing essential oils in the air, consider pregnant or breastfeeding women, children, or pets in your environment. Some essential can be very powerful. Always read the label and do your research if you are Pregnant, Breastfeeding or under Dr Care.
Q: Can essential oils be applied directly to the skin?
A: No. Essential oils are highly concentrated and must be diluted in a carrier oil before use. Never apply undiluted essential oils directly onto the skin. Always test on a small area of skin before use. Discontinue use if irritation occurs. Always keep out of reach of children. Everybody’s skin is different and we all react differently to different things. You could also try applying to less sensitive areas such as the soles of your feet. Certain citrus oils can cause photosensitivity when skin is exposed to sunlight after use. Avoid using on any areas of skin that will be exposed to the sun within 12 hours.
Q: How should essential oils be stored?
A: Ensure protection of your essential oils by keeping them away from direct sunlight and heat. For the Essential Oil Roller Bottles, you can store them in an oily bag (made to hold the bottles) or in with your favourite Essential Oils, ideally in an Essential Oil box or dark cool area. To see our range of Essential Oil Boxes and oily bags please go to www.iconicessentialoils.com.au. The oils should be stored out of reach of children.
